Nabumetone is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat mild to moderate pain and help relieve symptoms of arthritis (osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis), such as inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain. This medicine does not cure arthritis and will help you only as long as you continue to take it .

How Does Nabumetone Work?
Nabumetone and other NSAIDs work by inhibiting the action of certain hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. These hormones are called prostaglandins.
Nabumetone Effects
By blocking the effects of prostaglandins, nabumetone is useful at reducing pain, inflammation, and joint swelling associated with different forms of arthritis and painful conditions.
